Five Transporation Ballot Propositions - City Council - Mayor -- all up to the voters with a deadline of May 20

If you haven't voted yet in the Flagstaff City Election, NOW is the time. Tuesday is the deadline for depositing your vote-by-mail ballot with the Elections Office.  The office is in the County building just north of the Courthouse on Cherry Avenue in downtown Flagstaff.  It's the Cocononio County Elections Office even though this is a Flagstaff City Election. The County is charged with the responsibility of administering all local elections -- the city pays the county for the service and that's why the vote is by mail: it's less expensive. By the way, there is a convenient drop box in the County building parking lot -- just like you were dropping it at the post office. There is no guarantee the postal service will get your ballot in on time if you mail it this late, but it's not too late to have your vote counted. Drop it in the mailbox-like ballot drop in the parking lot, or take it into the Elections Office today or on Monday or Tuesday. If you have lost your ballot, go to the Elections Office. Don't care about the political candidates?  Vote anyway on the ballot propositions -- the future of Flagstaff's bus service is at stake. <a title="Mountain Line Ballot Propositions" href="blog/200797" target="_blank">Bus service is a key component of affordable living in Flagstaff</a>. I urge you to support all the ballot propositions. I don't get to vote, since I'm a County resident -- I don't live in the city limits of Flagstaff. You probably don't give a darn what I think of the candidates, but here it is anyway:  Mayor Joe has done a good job for eight years, but an awful lot of that good was because the rest of the council was pushing him. I think it's time of a new, energetic mayor and I endorse <a title="Sara for Mayor website" href="http://saraformayor.com/" target="_blank">Sara Presler-Hoefle</a>. I don't agree with her on everything, but his is a choice, not a perfect world. For City Council, I think <a title="Al White for Council website" href="http://alwhiteforcouncil.com/" target="_blank">Al White</a> needs to be retained. Again, I don't agree with him on everything, but he works hard at the job, he trys to bring diverse groups together, he is an articulate spokesperson for City interests, and we need his experience and knowledge base with a new City Manager in place and turnover in other council seats. <a title="Coral Evans on You Tube" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9IsHQ8tkzA" target="_blank">Coral Evans</a> is my next choice -- the only one on which I agree with the Northern Arizona Association of Realtors.®  Coral Evans has a long history of community organization and revitialization and will bring an essential perspective to development for Flagstaff's future. Finally, <a href="http://www.karlabrewster.com/">Karla Brewster</a> will give Northern Arizona University a voice on the City Council, as well as speak for many Flagstaff residents. Karla has been running hard, studying hard, and learning about our city because of her dedication to serve the community.
