Flagstaff Home Show Runs Three Days at NAU Skydome

This weekend the <a title="Flagstaff Home and Garden Show" href="http://www.americanshowsinc.com/flagstaff.html" target="_blank">Flagstaff Home and Garden Show</a> comes to the Northern Arizona University Skydome. Advertised as the largest show ever in Flagstaff, AZ, this weekend’s Home Show opens at 10:00 a.m. Friday and runs through Sunday afternoon, closing for the evenings at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Over 500 exhibitors are booked to inspire home ideas. Sponsored by the Flagstaff area members of the National Alliance for Mental Health, the event will include discussion of mental illness, poverty and homelessness.Flagstaff area Youth Poetry Festival begins with an opening reception Friday night from 6-8 p.m. at the <a title="Map to Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff AZ" href="http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&f=d&iwstate1=dir:to&daddr=2300+N+Fort+Valley+Rd+Flagstaff,+AZ+86001&fb=1&geocode=8551905807586528863,35.223333,-111.655561&oi=manybox&ct=16&cd=1&resnum=1" target="_blank">Coconino Center for the Arts</a>. There will be readings by Sherwin Bitsui, Mary Sojourner, and Myrlin Hepworth. Steve and Lois Hirst will share examples of early and contemporary Havasupai imagery and discuss how they located and identified early portraiture, many over a century old and never before seen. Following the presentation, there will be a book signing of the Hirst’s book <a title="More information about the book" href="http://www.grandcanyonassociation.org/page/GCA/PROD/FEATURED/M10121" target="_blank">I Am the Grand Canyon</a>.
