Music, outdoor experiences, film and politics -- what more could the Flagstaff community want?

As always, the weekend in Flagstaff offers a lot to do, including the last weekend of the annual February collection of events known as <a title="Winterfest Flagstaff calendar" href="http://www.flagstaffchamber.com/winterfest5.php" target="_blank">Flagstaff Winterfest</a> and all the <a title="Snow activities in Flagstaff" href="public/item/193309" target="_blank">snow play, skiing, and snow boarding activities</a> that will be enhanced by this week’s fresh snowfall in Flagstaff. Here are some of the highlights:Friday night will be a busy one for musical performances. Also on Friday night, at <a title="Directions to Prochnow" href="http://maps.google.com/maps?q=S+Knoles+Dr,+Flagstaff,+AZ+86001,+USA&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title" target="_blank">Prochnow Auditorium</a> on the Northern Arizona University campus, you can experience music arising from the traditional culture of South Africa with <a title="Their website" href="http://www.mambazo.com/biography.html" target="_blank">LadySmith Black Mambazo</a>. Tickets available from <a title="Greenhouse Productions website" href="http://www.greenhouseproductions.net/" target="_blank">Greenhouse Productions</a>.Friday night, jazz fans can see trumpeter <a title="Who is Randy Brecker?" href="http://randybrecker.com/" target="_blank">Randy Brecker</a>, who will be in Flagstaff for the 2008 NAU Jazz Festival – a weekend long event for middle school, high school, and junior college bands. Performances by the school bands are free and open to the public at Ardrey Auditorium throughout the days, Friday-Saturday.
