Issues about the future of Flagstaff to be discussed in next few days

<p>Flagstaff City Elections are upon us! There is a hot race and full field of candidates running for mayor, so there will be a primary for that spot.  The mayoral primary election, by mail-in ballot, concludes on March 11.  By now, if you are a City of Flagstaff resident,  you should have a ballot which you should have received by mail – there will be no voting at the polls. <strong>Candidates will answer voter questions in the next few days -- more information below!<img style="WIDTH: 213px; HEIGHT: 108px" height="108" alt="One Vote Makes a Difference" hspace="4" src="http://annheitland.smugmug.com/photos/257194390_UqvTL-S.jpg" width="213" align="right" vspace="4" border="0" /></strong></p><p>Many issues affecting Flagstaff residents and homeowners will be addressed by the new mayor and city council over the next two years. This is the public's chance to make a difference by electing candidates who will do what the voters want on issues like affordable housing, development, bus service, traffic, water conservation and taxes.  </p><p><a title="City of Flagstaff website info on the election" href="http://www.flagstaff.az.gov/index.asp?NID=548" target="_blank">While this is a Flagstaff City election, by law the Coconino County Elections Office conducts the election.</a> If you live in the City of Flagstaff and are a registered voter, you should already have your ballot for the mayoral primary. If you don’t have the ballot for the primary, <a title="Coconino County Elections Office Info" href="http://www.coconino.az.gov/elections.aspx?id=345" target="_blank">contact the County for more information by clicking here.</a></p><p>Two of the mayoral candidates will advance to the General City Election, which will conclude on May 20. Again, there will be no polling places for the general election – all voting will be by mail. Expect to receive your ballots to vote by mail for city council and mayor in late April. You must be registered to vote before that in order to participate. <a title="County Elections Office website" href="http://www.coconino.az.gov/elections.aspx?id=345" target="_blank">Contact the Coconino County Elections Office to register or to change your address if you have moved around in Flagstaff since the last election.</a> You can also register to vote on line, or change your address on line, but this must be done now! <a title="Service Arizona - Voter Registration on line" href="https://servicearizona.com/webapp/evoter/" target="_blank">Click here to register or change your address on line via Service Arizona.</a></p><p>Cast an informed vote by attending the candidate forum this Saturday. <strong>All candidates have agreed to participate</strong> in the moderated forum where you will have the chance to ask questions, and then to mingle with the candidates after the formal presentations.  The forum is jointly sponsored by the Flagstaff Branch of the <a title="AAUW website" href="http://aauw.org/" target="_blank">American Association of University Women</a> and the local <a title="League of Women Voters website" href="http://www.lwv.org/" target="_blank">League of Women Voters</a>.  Come to the forum to be informed and enjoy the refreshments as a nice incidental benefit! </p><h5 align="center">CITY ELECTION CANDIDATE FORUM</h5><h5 align="center">Saturday Morning, February 23rd<br />Federated Community Church<br />Rees Hall<br />400 W.
