It's going to be another busy weekend in Flagstaff, and we’re getting a fresh coating of snow right now so all the ski and snow-players will be happy. Let's get that snow stuff out of the way first. Now, let's move indoors:Friday night the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra presents Calo Flamenco with a special guest flamenco repertory company from Phoenix.  Their <a href="http://www.martingaxiola.com/">company's website</a> challenges us with the intro “So you think you know what flamenco is?” (And it’s also kind of challenging to wait for the website to load.) The performance begins at 7:30 PM at Ardrey Auditorium on the Northern Arizona University campus. Ticket information from <a title="Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra" href="http://flagstaffsymphony.org/" target="_blank">Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra</a>.Friday night in downtown Flagstaff, see <a href="http://www.greenhouseproductions.net/">Grace Potter</a> at the Mogollon Brewery, 15 N. Agassiz St., beginning at 9 p.m. The Daily Sun says: “while there are serious blues influences to her music, her band also purveys rock, funk, and soul. Grace not only sings like an angel, but also rocks the guitar and the B3 organ, and her band kills!” What does this mean?  Some of you, no doubt, will know.For this one, I know what it is, and I saw most of the movies in original release: Saturday, all day Beatles Film Festival at Cline Library Auditorium on the Northern Arizona University Campus. The festival proceeds will benefit for the <a href="http://www.nazethnicarts.org/about.htm">Northern Arizona Ethnic Arts Network</a> and <a title="George Harrison Material World Foundation website" href="http://www.georgeharrison.com/mwf/" target="_blank">George Harrison’s Material World Charitable Foundation</a>. Tickets are $5 per film or $23 for all day passes. This is the second weekend of the Flagstaff Cultural Partners art exhibition Unspoken.  The exhibit showcases the vision of three young Arizona artists -- Daniel Arnold, Julie Comnick, and Karen McClanahan. The exhibit has the themes of time, absence, and perspective. The artists are said to represent three clearly diverse styles of contemporary work. <a title="Unspoken art exhibit details" href="http://www.culturalpartners.org/unspoken.htm" target="_blank">Details on the art and the artists are available at the Flagstaff Cultural Partners’ website</a>. The exhibit runs through February 23, on Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-5pm. On Saturday night, Grand Canyon Guitar Society and Flagstaff Cultural Partners present <a title="Thomas Viloteau in concert in Flagstaff" href="http://www.culturalpartners.org/gcgs.htm#TV" target="_blank">Thomas Viloteau in concert</a> at the Coconino Center for the Arts. The young French guitarist is on a fifty-city tour of the U.S.  He is the 2006 first place winner of the Guitar Foundation of America's Competition. Concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance (tix at Arizona Music Pro, Cedar Music, Custom Sound Instruments), $18 day of show. In downtown Flagstaff Saturday night, the <a href="http://orpheumpresents.inticketing.com/evinfo.php?eventid=21468&sid=">Orpheum Theatre will be rockin’ and rollin’</a> with a show starting at 8 p.m.  Doors open at 7 p.m.A somewhat more sedate concert will happen Sunday afternoon, with a faculty vocal recital beginning at 3 p.m. on the Northern Arizona University campus, Audrey Auditorium. It’s free! Soprano Deborah Raymond, pianist Rita Borden, Aiden Sullivan and Nando Schellen will present a recital "About Children".
