The Flagstaff real estate market has been blasting into the new year for our team, so we've been very busy. (Not that buying a home isn't a pleasure!)The <a href="public/item/193309">snow play areas around Flagstaff</a> may be getting a little worn and icy, but they got plenty of snow in the storm of January 5-6. The weather is predicted to be warmer Saturday than it has been during the week, with a high around 40 degrees in town. (It’ll be chillier at the higher, mountain elevations around Flagstaff.) It may be wise to call ahead or check the <a href="http://www.snowplayaz.com/">Wing Mountain website</a> for snow conditions. And, remember, don’t park on Highway 180 – it’s dangerous and you may be ticketed. NAU Wind Symphony will perform at Audrey Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Friday night. These are great players. Come on out!<a title="Flagstaff Folk Project website" href="http://www.flagfolkproject.org/" target="_blank">Flagstaff’s Folk Project</a> sponsors “Open Mic” Friday night. Bring your instrument and join in the coffee house atmosphere. January’s featured performer is an open mic entrant from October: Terry Dumdei on the guitar. Friday starting at 7 p.m.  – show up at 7 p.m. to get on the list for open mic time. $5 entry fee. Located at Unitarian Univarsalist Fellowship hall, 510 N. Leroux Street. Saturday Night at Walkup Stadium, turn out to see NAU Women's Basketball vs. Sacramento State. 6:30 p.m.  General admission: $7. History Buffs, or those who just love Flagstaff, will want to see this slide show and lecture at <a title="Riordan Mansion State Park website" href="http://www.pr.state.az.us/Parks/parkhtml/riordan.html" target="_blank">Riordan Mansion State Park</a>. It’s Free! But please RSVP to 928-779-4395.  Learn about the Navajo/Hopi experience at Bellemont during World War II and how their experiences led to migration to Flagstaff in the post-war period. Slide Presentation by John Westerlund, Flagstaff Historian. Saturday Night, 7 p.m. at Riordan Mansion State Park. 409 W. Riordan Road. (just down the street from our office at RE/MAX Peak Properties at 717 W. Riordan Road) If you have moved to a new Flagstaff home since your last voter registration, or if you’re a new voter, it’s time to get registered in order to be able to participate in Flagstaff City Elections this Spring. On Saturday, there will be two locations available for you to register – and they take registration from anyone in the State, not just Coconino County.  You can register at Bookman’s on south Milton from noon-3 p.m. or at Democratic Party Headquarters (yes, they will do non-partisan registration, too – come if you an Independent or Republican), 4 S.
