 Flagstaff offers a special treat for Celtic music lovers on Friday evening at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Flagstaff. Imported from Ireland, Beoga(Irish word for ‘lively’) is a five-piece traditional band brought to Flagstaff by Living Traditions, one of Flagstaff’s many active music organizations. The performance begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 general admission and $12 for students and children. Jazz fans will not want to miss David Leibman, saxophonist and multi-Grammy award nominee, performing with NAU Jazz I Ensemble, at Ardrey Auditorium on the Northern Arizona University campus, at 8 p.m Friday. Tickets for non-students are $20 in advance from NAU Central Ticket Office, and $22 at the door. The event is part of the 47th Annual NAU Jazz Festival for middle school, high school, and community college musicians.

Flagstaff P.A.W.S. (Promoting Assets with Sculpture) is a project of the Assets Committee of the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth. The project promotes the 40 Developmental Assets concept for children. The first sculpture of the project will be unveiled Saturday at the Coconino Center for the Arts. The mountain lion sculpture by local artist Dion Wright will be on display Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Importance of Being Earnest – billed as “a trivial comedy for serious people” plays Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon at the Clifford White Theatre on the NAU campus.
