What a Variety of Events in Flagstaff this Weekend!

And don't forget to put "enjoy the great outdoors" on your list of things to do in Flagstaff on this beautiful weekend!

Let’s start with a classic Shakespeare comedy, Twelfth Night, playing at Northern Arizona University’s Studio Theatre.  The Studio Theatre is located on the north end of the NAU Performing Arts Building (often thought of as Ardrey Auditorium, but that’s just the south part). The play begins its run on Friday, with performances Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets from Ticketmaster.com or 928-523-5661.

Go to the south end of the same building, to Ardrey Auditorium for a FREE performance by the NAU Percussion Ensemble at 7 p.m.

The traveling Mars in 3D exhibit is still at Lowell Observatory – catch it this weekend during the day or evening.

The Grand Canyon Railway begins its Polar Express service this weekend from the Williams, AZ depot. Special packages available throughout the holiday season, with departures at 6:30 and 8 p.m. on select evenings. Reservations strongly advised – visit the website.

Flagstaff offers several selections for Saturday, beginning mid-afternoon with a discussion on the history of the immigrant experience in America led by Brian Gratton, History Professor at Arizona State University.  Four Hundred Years of Immigration to America: Ethnicity, Public Opinion and Policy, 1607-2007. Also on Saturday night, the Coconino Center for the Arts hosts the 9th Annual River Runner Film Festival and Auction. Proceeds benefit Grand Canyon Youth, a non-profit organization based in Flagstaff which offers experiential education along the rivers and canyons of the southwest. Entry to the event is $10 and is open to public. River-themed films, food, silent auction, and raffle. Over 90 Flagstaff-area artists and businesses have donated to the silent auction. Sunday would be a great day to visit the Museum of Northern Arizona. Included in your admission that day will be the Express Yourself in Your Environment, you can see how Flagstaff high school students interpret their impact on the local environment. 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

The Flagstaff weather promises to be sunny all weekend, with temperatures in the mid-fifties. Another chance to grab a great hike on the hundreds of miles of forest service trails or Flagstaff city urban pathways!  If you want to buy or sell real estate, give me a call – you may catch me on a hike and we’ll find a way to meet and get started on finding your dream Flagstaff home.
