If you missed the Navajo Festival this summer, there is still time to see one of its highlights at the Museum of Northern Arizona. The exhibit Our Fathers, Our Grandfathers, Our Heroes, on loan from Circle of Light, features the World War II Navajo Code Talkers – Navajo marines who devised an unbreakable code that helped win the war. Admission prices to the museum, which is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, are listed here. Enjoy downtown Flagstaff on Friday night with the music of Whiskey Rodeo at Heritage Square beginning at 6 p.m. followed by an open air movie beginning at sunset. This week’s movie is Nacho Libre. The first City of Flagstaff Children's Music & Arts Fest opens at Wheeler Park Saturday at 11 a.m. with events continuing until 4 p.m. Admission is free and will include music, dance, carnival games, bounce house, climbing wall, Kiddie Caboose, a fire truck, musical instrument workshops, library activities, the Guardian Transport Monster Ambulance, Bomb Squad Truck, DARE, and a “Turn Trash into Treasure” contest. Enjoy dance in downtown Flagstaff Saturday afternoon when Heritage Square Trust's Summer Concert Series presents Canyon Movement Company. 2:00 PM Free! Saturday night between 5:30 and 10:00 p.m. visit Lowell Observatory for telescope viewing and a presentation at 7 p.m. by docent Howard Israel on Mayan Astronomy. Sunday afternoon, Heritage Square Trust's Summer Concert Series presents the traditional Turkish and Middle Eastern dance of Al-Rakasaat. Free! Wine and Dine in the Pines at Arizona Snowbowl-Hart Prairie Lodge to benefit the Northern Arizona University Athletic Scholarship Fund. Enjoy gourmet foods from Northern Arizona’s finest dining establishments and a wide array of dinner and dessert wines from Alliance Beverage Distributing Company. 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.; $75 per person.
