For fun things to do in Flagstaff this weekend, I just had to start with the Full Moon Bat Program on Friday night at The Arboretum at Flagstaff – just so I could use this picture. Bat expert Brian Keeley will guide you on an exploration of bats under the full moon on Friday night from 6:30 (beginning with a slide show) until 8 p.m. Learn about bat species of Arizona then venture into the gardens to observe The Arboretum’s resident bats and possibly capture one for a close-up demonstration. There is a $5 admission fee for members and $7 for non-members. No pre-registration is required; however, space is limited to first come, first served. Guests are invited to pack a dinner and enjoy the gardens while you eat. If bats are not your thing, how about a moonlight biking adventure? The Coconino Cycling Clubs, aka the Scalawags, will be taking off from the Flagstaff Adult Center in Thorpe Park for about 8 miles of riding after dark on the Flagstaff Urban Trail System. The Scalawags are calling this one the Giro de La Luna (“Night of the Full Moon”) Moonlight Ride. One thing you really shouldn’t miss, if you have not already seen it, is the Town and Gown production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The combination of talent from NAU and the Flagstaff community is really amazing! The last performances are Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon. Click here for details and ticket info. There will be music in Heritage Square both Saturday and Sunday and the usual Friday night movie preceded by entertainment at dusk. For other Flagstaff events, check the Arizona Daily Sun calendar page (there is a link on the right side of this blog). My list of personal favorite things to do in Flagstaff is rather skimpy this week, not because there is not a lot to do in Flagstaff this weekend, but because I left for vacation on Thursday at the crack of dawn. (This post will be activated Thursday afternoon.) The rest of my team will be hard at work to help our Flagstaff real estate clients while I am away. Just give us a call (phone number below) or start your search for a Flagstaff home at our Flagstaff real estate website. Have a great weekend in Flagstaff! Meanwhile, I’m a bit distracted by the last minute details of getting away. And this song keeps running through my head: |
