Things to Do in Flagstaff This Weekend!

Flagstaff Winterfest, NAU Drama and Music, Outdoor and Indoor Activities Abound
Details on history and events for the full festival

Flagstaff Winterfest is in full fury this weekend. The collection of events, sponsored by the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, demonstrates that Flagstaff is a great place to live year round. Check out the list from museum visits to chocolate eating at Flagstaff Winterfest, Feb 8-14.

At Arizona Snowbowl this Saturday, there will be competition for advanced skiers and snowboarders. $25 to enter – T-shirts and medals available.  Snow continues to cover our environs, so enjoy the snow play areas around Flagstaff even if you are not a downhill skier or snowboarder.

If you missed the 2007 NAU Theatre performance of Martin McDonagh's dark comedy The Cripple of Inishmaan, you’ll have a chance to see the final rehearsals for free as the troupe heads off to perform among a select group at the Kennedy Center College Theatre Festival in Los Angeles. Catch the final, dress rehearsals Friday and Saturday nights. Curtain at 8:00 p.m. both nights, at Clifford White Theatre on the NAU campus. Free!

Flagstaff Light Opera Company holds a dinner theatre, its annual fund-raising event, at Jotini’s Restaurant, Saturday night. Broadway tunes with a Valentine theme and a buffet dinner will be served up for $40 per person.  Tickets are limited. Call Jotini’s for information: 928.527.7998.

MacBeth, performed by the Theatrikos Theatre Company, continues at the Doris Harper White Community Playhouse tonight, Saturday and Sunday.

Flagstaff will light up with song as the Jazz Madrigal Festival spreads from campus throughout the city this weekend.

If you’re a sports fan, NAU athletes will be active this weekend. Here’s the website to find out where: NAU sports.

Finally, even if you haven't pre-ordered your tamales and enchiladas, stop by the Tamale Sale at Killip School on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon -- they just may have some unclaimed tamales to sell. There will be over 20 candidates in attendance to visit with and ask about their views on the future of Flagstaff.
