The board of directors of the Flagstaff Continental Country Club Homeowners Association is meeting for the first time following the annual board elections and committee appointments. The meeting is Wednesday, November 28 at 3:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse, 2389 Oakmont Dr. All members homeowners of the Continental Country Club association are welcome to attend. There are issues with the finances of the association in light of the defeat of the board's proposal to raise dues slightly. Nonetheless, the general manager is optimistic that with some cost cutting, the Continental Country Club will retain its appeal as one of Flagstaff's premier neighborhoods. A Firewise Plan of Action for the Country Club neighborhood is on its way to state, regional, and national review. The plan was formalized by a committee of the board in the last few months. When completed, Continental Country Club will become the first Firewise Community in Flagstaff. Next up for the committee is an analysis of the 22-acre greenbelt located to the east of Edgewood Drive in the neighborhood. Both Walnut Canyon and Lake Elaine are in good condition and full. A new fountain has been installed in Whale Lake and is visible from various locations in the neighborhood. These are beautiful assets to the neighborhood. A kiddie pool and new miniture golf course are in progress and will be ready for next season. Golf course preparation for winter will be underway soon. If any homeowner has questions or wants to make comments or suggestions to the board, I suggest he or she attend the board meeting, or contact General Manager Don Evans at 928-526-5125. |
