Flagstaff Real Estate in the News

Sunday's Flagstaff Paper Made Headlines From What's Happening in the Flagstaff Real Estate Market

Real estate made the headlines in Flagstaff’s local paper this weekend. On Sunday, the front page of both Section A and the Business Section of the Arizona Daily Sun carried stories designed to dramatize what’s going on in our market, as well as give some advice to Flagstaff homeowners trying to sell.

The front page carried an article titled Sales Slump which told the story of one family that had purchased a townhome for their daughter while she attended NAU and now, in her senior year, they are trying to sell it. Since she is still in school and still living there, it made me wonder how well the place looks when it’s being shown. Still, it also sounded from the article that they were not pricing aggressively enough. A local Realtor® quoted in the article blamed the competition with apartments now for sale as condos, which he said are “cannibalizing” townhomes. Still, some townhomes are managing to sell, including three that we’ve had listed and successfully sold since August – one in Boulder Pointe, one in Ponderosa Trails, and one in Bellemont.

In the business section of the Daily Sun on Sunday, there were questions and answers from two Flagstaff Realtors®, including yours truly, on the topic Keeping Cool in the Cool Market. Check it out! Thanks to the Arizona Daily Sun.
