Tonight, August 30th at Heritage Square in Downtown Flagstaff from 5-7pm Thursdays on the Square Presents: Mars Hillbillies, a group of Flagstaff traditional and acoustic musical talent that will play folk and bluegrass music. Friday night, August 31st at Sunset at Heritage Square in Downtown Flagstaff Movies on the Square Presents: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest Highlight of the Weekend: 58th Annual Coconino County Fair! The fair – which claims to be the largest event in Northern Arizona – opens, in part, tonight. Over the course of the weekend, there will be livestock auctions, a continuous carnival, hobbies, collections, antique, and various special themed areas, including arts, leisure, conservation and sustainable environment areas. There will be lots of live entertainment (read – MUSIC) for adults and kids. There will be horses (big ones!), stilt walkers, twisters, and food galore. Coconino County Fair dates and hours are: Thursday, August 30 5 pm–10 pm (CARNIVAL ONLY, 2 for 1 BUDDY DAY) Friday, August 31 10 am–10 pm Saturday, September 1 10 am–10 pm Sunday, September 2 10 am–10 pm Monday, September 3 10 am–4 pm Admission: Family pass (5 maximum) - $20 ; Adults -$7; Children 6 to 12- $4; Children under 5- Free; Seniors (65 and above)- $4; Parking- $3 Top off the weekend with the Flagstaff Symphony for a summer pops extravaganza featuring the NAU Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
