| June 07, 2010 | | Living in Flagstaff offers great weather and amazing things to do | The headline in Flagstaff’s local paper on Saturday was First Friday Art Walk: “Fantastic.” Indeed, the entire weekend in Flagstaff was “fantastic.” A little warm, perhaps, as Saturday set a record high temperature for Flagstaff on June 5 (88o) and Sunday was warm, too. Evenings were lower, as always in this wonderful mountain town.
If you missed June’s First Friday Artwalk in Flagstaff, don’t despair! We have it every month—all year round. July’s event is sure to be super since it’s the night before the annual Flagstaff Fourth of July parade. The sidewalks in downtown Flagstaff are sure to be full for both events on that busy holiday weekend. (Tip: arrive early for the parade to get your spot in the shade!)
Downtown Flagstaff is really a great place to be virtually any night of the year. You’ll find live music, dancing, outdoor movies and so much more in Heritage Square – the heart of downtown Flagstaff. It’s just one of the reasons that Life Magazine recently chose Flagstaff as one of the ”most underrated cities in the West.” Life said, “People think Arizona is desert and cactus. Flagstaff is mountains and forests and clear skies.” Right on!
