The housing index I love to hate – mostly because it runs two months late and has little to do with Flagstaff home sales – released its report on January home prices on Tuesday. Wall Street loves the Case-Shiller Index, probably because its run by one of its own, Standard & Poor’s. Tuesday’s Standard & Poor’s Case-Schiller press release said housing prices improved from December to January in the twenty cities included in the survey and were down less than 1% from January 2009.
