Art, music and just plain fun will fill Flagstaff this weekend!

Another wonderful three day weekend will open with First Friday ArtWalk in downtown Flagstaff tomorrow. There will be an outdoor movie suitable for kids at dusk on Heritage Square.

Meanwhile, out at the County Fairgrounds, the 60th Annual Coconino County Fair will be in full swing Friday night and throughout the weekend. Ride your bike to the fair and receive $1 off on admission and use the bike valet while you enjoy the fair. At the fairgrounds’ grandstand throughout the weekend, you can see the Demolition Derby – a benefit event of the Sunrise Lions Club.

Saturday, you can preview the art work that will be on display in the artists’ own studios in a couple of weeks during the annual Flagstaff Open Studios tour. Prelude to Open Studios is on display at the Coconino Center for the Arts from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. every Tuesday – Saturday until September 20.

Wheeler Park, on the west side of downtown Flagstaff, hosts a juried fine art and fine craft show daily throughout the weekend. In addition to the arts and crafts, you’ll find live music, food and a children’s play area.

This would be a lovely weekend to visit Lowell Observatory – on Monday, admission for kids is free! Or visit The Arboretum at Flagstaff and catch the Live Birds of Prey programs daily at noon and 2 p.m.

Whatever you do, enjoy Labor Day weekend! Flagstaff's a great place to live!
