| August 27, 2009 | | Public meeting on potential eastside Flagstaff snowplay area is scheduled for Thursday night. | Proposed Flagstaff Snowplay Area - Click for Larger Image Last winter, Flagstaff residents and visitors voted with their sleds to support a Snow Play Area in the retention area created by the reconfiguration of the junction of Country Club Drive and Routes 66 and 89N. Now the City of Flagstaff is holding hearings and receiving comments about making the area a formal Snow Play area – with actual places to park.
A public meeting on the proposal is scheduled for Thursday night at Christensen Elementary School (4000 N. Cummings Street). The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and is expected to continue until 8 p.m.
If you can’t make the meeting, but would like to register your views with the city, send an email by clicking here.
Update Thursday a.m.: Arizona Daily Sun's Joe Ferguson lays out more of the issues related to this proposal, and how the City might get it done even in these tough budget times. | |
