TGI…Flagstaff!

Here are a few things to do in Flagstaff this wonderful summer weekend.

Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm or Saturday or Sunday morning at 10:30 am, take an guided walking tour of historic, downtown Flagstaff. The tour leaves from the Flagstaff Visitors’ Center at the train station on Santa Fe and is FREE, but reservations are recommended. Call 928-774-9541.

Friday night, hang out downtown in Heritage Square, where there will be kids activities, music and a movie at sunset. The movie scheduled this week is Nacho Libre. Stop in at Cuvee for a glass of wine – a cool selection. (I sampled it last week during First Friday Artwalk!)

Wheeler Park (across from Flagstaff City Hall) will be active Saturday with the annual Flagstaff Children’s Music and Arts Festival, which begins at 10:00 a.m.

Go south to Ponderosa Trails on Saturday morning for the First Annual Route 66 Classic Volleyball Tournament at Ponderosa Trails Park, beginning at 10 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Arizona Gay Volleyball Association and Northern Arizona Pride Association.

Out at the Arizona Snowbowl on Saturday, you’ll find some very tired folks who have completed the seven-mile Flagstaff Climb to Conquer Cancer. It’s not too late to join them, or at least make a contribution to a worthy cause!

Sunday, return to Heritage Square for Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra members’ performance as The Elden Brass Quintet. The concert is free and begins at 5:30 p.m.

Whatever you do in Flagstaff this weekend, be safe and have fun! Living in Flagstaff is great!
