The 11th annual Fiesta de Mayo Celebration Event happens this weekend in Flagstaff’s Ponderosa Park, 2512 N. First Street. The annual Fiesta del Mayo Celebration is considered to be one of Northern Arizona’s premier cultural attractions. The annual Fiesta del Mayo Celebration honors the significance and promotes the importance of history, culture and ethnic and racial harmony. The festival will feature live music, artisan craft booths, food vendors, traditional Folklorico dancers, a classic car show, a parade, and a bounce-house carnival for the kids. In downtown Flagstaff on Saturday afternoon, you’ll see children from Marshall Elementary School performing music at Heritage Square from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
It’s also a great weekend to visit The Arboretum at Flagstaff, where you can participate in a number of classes and demonstrations, including the ever-popular live birds of prey demonstrations.
And, finally, the nights are warm enough to really enjoy standing outside for telescope viewing at Lowell Observatory.
