Friday brings First Friday Artwalk to downtown Flagstaff. Click here to download a map of all the official stops where you can see art and munch.
One of the highlights of Flagstaff’s art walk this month will be at the Doris Harper White Community Theatre (Theatrikos), where the art of Janna Dahl, the local artist who was featured on the front page of the Arizona Daily Sun this week, will be on display. Dahl lost her hearing at a very young age. She emigrated from Russia & settled in Flagstaff where she continues her artistic quest. Stop by for wine and snacks and enjoy the art.
Then, cross the street to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel where the Northern Arizona University Shrine of the Ages Choir and the NAU Chamber Choir will give their final performance of the season, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy some of the best music not only of Flagstaff, but of the southwest!
On Saturday, the RE/MAX open house tour will be on the east side of town – with some great Flagstaff homes to see. Check back later for the list of homes and tour schedule.
If you’d prefer to go back in time for your outside tour on Saturday, it’s Elden Pueblo Public Day at the Elden Pueblo Heritage Site in the Coconino National Forest just north of Flagstaff. Take Highway 89 to just past the Townsend/Winona Road. Site tours start at 10:00 a.m., noon, and 2:00 p.m. Don’t get lost and wander into my backyard, which is just down the road.
On Sunday, you’ll have options at the Arboretum at Flagstaff (including live birds of prey demonstrations) and at Lowell Observatory.
Have a great weekend in Flagstaff! |
