| January 16, 2009 | | A three day school weekend in Flagstaff AZ and lead-in to inauguration activities keeps special events to a minimum in Flagstaff, AZ | It's been a busy week for this Flagstaff real estate agent -- apparently those low interest rates are working because, for me at least, buyers have flooded my life this week. Don't get me wrong -- I love it and am never too busy for your referrals. All this real estate activity did cause me to delay writing my weekly post of things to do in Flagstaff this weekend. Then, I found that there is not much to post!
There is, nonetheless, plenty to do in Flagstaff, AZ this weekend. Many of the events posted in weeks past (just scroll down) are continuing shows, including at the Coconino Center for the Arts. Snow play at the higher elevations should continue to be good although most of our snow in town is now melted or evaporated away -- we've had temperatures in the 50's all week (at least on my side of town) with bright, typical Flagstaff mountain sun.
Flagstaff High School is presenting a two interesting of one-act plays this weekend. Lowell Observatory has a special MLK Starfest on Sunday night and on Monday, in celebration of school being out, kids are free at Lowell.
Many Flagstaff residents will take this three-day weekend to dip down for a break in even warmer temperatures in Phoenix or Sedona. Some of our local Democrats are heading to Washington D.C. for Inauguaral activities next week. Lots of Flagstaff residents will be celebrating next Tuesday night at the Woodlands Radisson Hotel and many others will be at the Green Room (15 N. Agassiz) and at The Photography Center on the east side of Heritage Square in downtown Flagstaff. Many others will gather in private homes to watch the historic events of January 20, 2009. Flagstaff is one of the darkest blue spots in an otherwise red state. But on January 20, we're all Americans and all Flagstaff citizens are invited to the inaugural celebration of renewal at the Woodland Radisson Hotel.
Have a great weekend -- enjoy Flagstaff! | |
