 This weekend you won’t be able to miss that Flagstaff is an part of the Old West. The Pine Country Pro Rodeo is in town! They will be kicking up the dust at the Coconino County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. Friday and Saturday gates open at 5 p.m. Performance begins at 7 p.m. Sunday gates open at noon. Friday night should prove to be another great night in downtown Flagstaff. Members of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra will bring delightful music to Heritage Square. The outdoor movie of the week is Wizard of Oz. The big event downtown on Saturday is the 25th annual Route 66 Chili Cookoff! Tasting kits become available starting at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $3 per kit and proceeds benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters. You’ll have the opportunity to taste and vote for your favorites chili prepared by over 20 members of the International Chili Society and by Flagstaff local cookers. Hear about life as an enrollee from a former CCC member, then join Jane Jackson in an easy walk to the Schultz Pass camp and learn how the 3Cs helped change the face of Flagstaff. Sunday night, enjoy Father’s Day Starfest at Lowell Observatory. All fathers will be admitted for free. At 7 p.m., Lowell Observatory docent Howard Israel gives an indoor presentation, We're All Made of Stardust. In addition, there will be numerous telescopes set up for viewing throughout the Lowell campus. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Play It Again, Sam continues at Theatrikos Theatre Company, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
