A Quiet But Beautiful Flagstaff Weekend

With all Flagstaff schools on Spring Break, special events are few -- making this weekend a great time to enjoy Flagstaff!

Here are a few things to do in Flagstaff this weekend:

Visit the Museum of Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon and included in your admission to the museum will be a special visual presentation by artist Bruce Aiken. Aiken developed a great body of painting of Grand Canyon scenes while living with his family in a remote side canyon along Roaring Springs, which flows into the Grand Canyon. The program begins at 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by a book sale and signing. While at the museum, view other great Grand Canyon artists in special exhibit and catch one of the last two weekends of the Therizinosaur exhibit.

The weather at Flagstaff’s elevation will be perfect Spring-time temperatures with sunny days for biking and hiking and golf. The night sky will be clear for telescope viewing at Lowell Observatory.

All lifts are operating at the elevation of Arizona Snowbowl with a great base still in place for Spring skiing.

Saturday afternoon there will be an Easter egg hunt at Murdoch Community Center, beginning at 2:00 p.m. There is no charge for children in the community to hunt from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Location: 203 E. Brannen Ave.

Sunday afternoon, look out for traffic on the west side of town as NAU students and other Flagstaff residents pour up I-17 returning from Spring Break. The next step for many NAU students will be finding housing for next year. They have lots of Flagstaff condo options!
