Murder, temptation and treachery come to Downtown Flagstaff tonight as the Theatrikos Theatre Company brings Shakespeare’s classic MacBeth to our local community playhouse. MacBeth is the darkest of Shakespeare’s tragedies and an old-time political thriller from the days when political differences were resolved not by friendly debates but with battlefield clashes. The performance run is tonight through February 24 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. For ticket information, visit Theatrikos’ website. Tonight will be a chilly First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Flagstaff beginning at 6:30 and continuing to 9:00 p.m. Entrance to a variety of downtown galleries is free and you may enjoy live music and refreshments. For information, contact the Artist’s Gallery: 928-773-0958, or visit their website. If you’d like to stay inside and want to avoid the opening crush at MacBeth, you may want to take in the NAU Chamber Orchestra’s performance Masterworks No.4 “Tango” at Audrey Auditorium 7:30pm. Sunday afternoon, you can take in a NAU Faculty recital with Cloud, Sullivan, Borden and Gould. The renowned Nancy Sullivan is principal horn player with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. On campus at Ashurst Auditorium 3:00 p.m. Meanwhile, with a fresh dusting of snow this week, there will continue to be great snow play activities in Flagstaff. And don't forget to order your tamales! Have a wonderful weekend! |
