| December 10, 2007 | | Celebration of Shonto Begay's Large Canvas Work at Riordan Building | Renowned Flagstaff and Native American artist Shonto Begay is not only an artist, but also an educator and author. His work has been shown in Santa Fe, San Francisco, and the Phoenix Art Museum. Shonto is also a great benefactor for the Flagstaff community. Notably, he contributes the cover design for the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra each year, which becomes a poster and art auction piece to benefit the Symphony. Right now, an exhibit of Shonto Begay's larger canvas work is on display at the historic Riordan Building, 821 W. Riordan Road (Riordan and Old Route 66) in Flagstaff (just down the road from RE/MAX Peak Properties). Tomorrow night enjoy a free artist celebration with Shonto Begay, and live music, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. To see the display even if you are snowed out tomorrow night, the Riordan Building is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The display lasts only until Dec. 27. For more information, visit www.shontobegay.com. | |
