| November 05, 2007 | | The Flagstaff Exchange Club will meet at Lowell Observatory on Wednesday November 7 | The Club will meet at 11:30 instead on noon on November 7, and the meeting is at Lowell Observatory, where members will be treated to a special tour. Lowell Observatory is one of Flagstaff's gems. Lowell is a private, non-profit research institution founded at the dawn of the 20th Century. The planet (or former planet -- depending whose side you are on), Pluto, was discovered at Lowell. Lowell continues cutting edge research in the 21st Century and is building the Discovery Channel Telescope to expand its contributions to science. Except this week, the Club meets each Wednesday at noon at the Radisson Woodlands Hotel in Flagstaff. Members and guests are always welcome to join the Club for lunch at the Radisson. This week's meeting at Lowell requires advance reservation. | |
