| October 26, 2007 | | Flagstaff Westsiders Should Brace Themselves and Plan Ahead | Northern Arizona University's Homecoming events bring lots of people and lots of fun to Flagstaff, but it also exacerbates our weekend traffic. So be prepared and plan ahead. The NAU homecoming parade will be downtown Saturday morning -- closing some of the historic downtown streets for a few hours as on-lookers line up for a Hollywood-themed celebration of our local university and its alums. The football game begins at 3:05 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the skydome on South Campus. Watch for traffic on Milton Road as fans gather for the game and then exit for evening celebrations a few hours later. Indeed, watch for traffic all day, as tailgaiting will begin right after the parade. Saturday will not be the only day with extra traffic -- allow extra time Friday afternoon as alumni come to town and as various departments and schools hold alumni receptions on Friday. Here's a full schedule of Homecoming Events. | |
